Alpine Strawberry

NATIVE "everbearing" summer treat produces white flowers and small red fruits simultaneously once the season is underway in June! Grows 4"-9" tall, 8"-12" wide, spreads by stolons.

Rattlesnake Master

Forms a rosette of long, fibrous foliage from corm-like crown. Clusters of flowers resemble thistles but are members of the carrot family and grow on flowerstalks to 3'-5' tall. Native to central and southeast US. Great cut flower.

Prairie coreopsis

Grows 18"-30" tall and 12"-18" wide, forms colonies through rhizomes and self-seeding. Pale yellow daisy-like flowers bloom early to mid summer. Flowers provide nectar for pollinators and seed for birds. Foliage and stems turn red in autumn.

Bunchberry

NATIVE ground cover related to dogwood, grows to 4"-6". Blooms in late spring with white showy bracts surrounding the true flower. Bright red berries beloved by birds and edible by humans follow.

Scotch Bellflower (Harebell)

NATIVE blue-violet nodding blossoms in summer singly or in clusters on 12"-18" slender stems. Forms clump of edible basal leaves, may re-flower in fall. Root can be used medicinally.

White Wild Indigo

NATIVE long lived nitrogen-fixing perennial to 42" with white pea-shaped flowers loved by bumblebees. Seed pods and foliage are also excellent in bouquets.

Wild Ginger

NATIVE groundcover 6"-12" tall, 12"-18" wide, forms colonies by rhizome. Purplish-brown flowers are found close to the ground beneath the leaves in early spring. Roots have mild ginger flavor.

Munstead Lavender

Aromatic mounded shrub grows to 2'-3'. Spikes of fragrant purple flowers in summer. Use lavender for aromatherapy, tea, and herbes de Provence seasoning blends.

Blue Vervain

NATIVE perennial to 60" with long lasting steeples of tiny blue-purple blossoms. Medicinal and very attractive to pollinators.

Calico Aster

Symphyotrichum lateriflorum

NATIVE 24" perennial. The white-petaled flowers surround center discs in shades of pink, red, and yellow giving a calico appearance. Widely adapted and a great pollinator plant.
